Bocage or the Praise of Inquietude, by the Boccan researcher Daniel Pires, is the biographical work that represents about 30 years of research, carried out in the archives of the main libraries and archives of the country.
In this work, Daniel Pires reveals unpublished and unknown data on Bocage's personality and work, overcoming some misconceptions that tradition has consolidated over time.
Its initiation and praxis within Freemasonry; his academic career in childhood and adolescence; the interrogations of the Inquisition and the re-education to which he was subjected; the authorship of the first Portuguese feminist manifesto, an epistolary novel in verse, are some of the aspects disclosed in this work.
