Presentation of Dicionário de História Empresarial Portuguesa Séculos XIX e XX (Dictionary of 19th and 20th Century Portuguese Business History)

The Dictionary of 19th and 20th Century Portuguese Business History Volume I – Banks, and Volume II - Insurance Companies, coordinated by Miguel Figueira de Faria and José Amado Mendes, published by the INCM in partnership with Universidade Autónoma de LIsboa, were presented yesterday at the Imprensa Nacional Library.

The works were presented by their coordinators and by Nicolau Santos, deputy-editor of the weekly newspaper Expresso and Rui Carp, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the INCM, whilst Fernando Faria de Oliveira, Chairman of the Portuguese Association of Banks and Pedro Seixas Vales, Chairman of the Portuguese Association of Insurance Companies, also participated in the presentation.

The volumes presented are being made simultaneously public due to their obvious inter-relationship and, together, they comprise a historic dictionary of the Portuguese financial system since its very beginnings, providing a wide and documented view of the past of various institutions.
