A more accessible Diário da República Eletrónico with new functionalities

September 19, 2014

The Diário da República Eletrónico (Electronic Official Journal - DRE) is embarking on a new phase as of the 19th of September with renewed graphics, a more intuitive search method, friendlier navigability and new functionalities that improve accessibility for citizens and simplify the process of searching for and understanding acts that govern life in society. This is a major contribution to increasing transparency of the relationship between the state and citizens.

This new portal is the result of a series of projects run by INCM, in partnership with the Secretary General of the Office of the President of the Council of Ministers and the Government's IT Network Management Centre (CEGER in Portuguese). These consisted of the migration of all the information accumulated in the DRE and DIGESTO platforms, which were reaching saturation, to a new and unique platform with more capacity and greater potential.

This change has given the DRE new functionalities, such as allowing non-subscribers to register and create a profile that allows them to save searches or sign up for 1st series and 2nd series summaries and DIGESTO newsletters for free.

In addition to existing functions, subscribers will be given access to a legal translation glossary with 5 thousand terms in English, French, Spanish and German - a total of 17 thousand continuously updated terms from different areas of law.
