The INCM at the VIII Forum of Official Portuguese Language Printing Offices

The INCM was present at the VIII Forum of Official Portuguese Language Printing Offices that was held in Rio de Janeiro between the 22nd and 24th of March. The aim of this regularly held meeting is to share experiences with a view to improving practices.

Official printing offices from countries across three continents were represented at this forum, whose slogan was “our language is our strength”, and were proud to contribute to the dissemination of the Portuguese language. Portugal, Guinea, Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe, Angola, Mozambique and, particularly, the majority of the official printing offices from the 26 states of Brazil, represented by theABIO – The Brazilian Association of Official Printing Offices, which undertook to make every effort to encourage the future participation of the Timor Official Journal and the Macau Bulletin, which are also published in Portuguese.

As part of the work, debates were held on issues relating to the publication of official journals, submission, publication and printing methods, as well as those relating to other public activities normally carried out by official printing offices, such as the production of forms, cultural publications and literature. Business models and methods were also shared, taking into account the legislative features and the legal framework for official printing offices in each country.
