EQUALITY, DIVERSITY
AND INCLUSION
RESPECT DIFFERENCE, VALUE DIVERSITY, AND GIVE ALL PEOPLE EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES
In INCM all people are welcome, respected, and treated with equity, regardless of what makes them unique or different from the others, such as age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, social origin, economic and family situation, religion, physical or mental condition, political or ideological convictions.
Only by valuing diversity and equal opportunities will it be possible to build a better, fairer, and more balanced society, where everyone has a place and can make a contribution.
INCM also has a Plan for Gender Equality, defined annually and built according to the guidelines of the Commission for Equality in Work and Employment (CITE), covering the following dimensions:
- Strategy, mission, and values;
- Equal access to employment;
- Initial and ongoing training;
- Equal working conditions;
- Reconciliation of professional activity with family and personal life;
- Prevention in the practice of harassment at work;
- Protection in parenting.

This path is built every day, especially on the INCM Gender Equality Day, which is celebrated on June 1st, remembering the hiring of Etelvina Adelaide Conceição e Silva, in 1895, the first female employee of the Casa da Moeda.
If, on the one hand, the end of the 19th century saw the shy admission of the first women to the Casa da Moeda and the Imprensa Nacional, today there is a balance between the number of women and men workers, with women at all levels and in all hierarchies of the company.
INCM’s involvement in the gender equality issue has led to its participation in business forums, including the iGen, as well as the adoption of measures that enhance equal opportunities at work, together with good practices in conciliation between personal and professional life.
