INCM and Valora enter into a partnership agreement

November 6, 2014

Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda (INCM) and Valora, S.A., whose sole shareholder is Banco de Portugal, today signed a partnership agreement aimed at building synergies through sharing good practices and know-how between counterpart areas.

The agreement between the parties was signed by Valora Chairman José António Silveira Godinho and administrator Helena Bebiano, and by INCM Chairman, Rui Carp, and Board of Directors Member Gonçalo Caseiro. It also envisages the provision of services associated with the production of high level security graphics to supplement the competencies found within each institution, thereby increasing their competitiveness and productivity, and reducing the amount of transformed products that are imported.

With a validity of five years, automatically renewable if not terminated by either of the parties, this partnership agreement also sets out conditions for the possibility of jointly developing and implementing projects.

Valora, S.A., holds a contract with Banco de Portugal for producing and finishing euro notes that are put into circulation in Portugal. Banco de Portugal holds one hundred percent of the company's share capital.
