"Luís Miguel Castro" launched at the National Film Library

September 18, 2014

Another book from the "D Collection", dedicated to the work of Luís Miguel Castro, was launched yesterday at the National Film Library. Present at the event were José Manuel Costa, Director of the National Film Library, Rui Carp, Chairman of the INCM, Mário Moura, university fine arts professor, Jorge Silva, coordinator of the "D Collection", Duarte Azinheira, Director of INCM's Publications Unit and Luís Miguel Castro, the designer featured in this edition.

Luís Miguel Castro joins names like R2, Victor Palla, Pedro Falcão, Paulo-Guilherme, Marco Sousa Santos, Fred Kradolfer and Fernando Brízio, who have featured in the seven volumes that have been launched so far; the next edition will be dedicated to João da Câmara Leme.

The "D Collection" is primarily aimed at students and teachers at a secondary and university level, as well as professional communities related to the plastic arts, design, illustration and advertising. The fact that the publication is bilingual means that it can also be made available at cultural institution bookshops, both in Portugal and overseas.

This collection was conceived by Jorge Silva and Silvadesigners, who are in charge of selecting designers, researching and producing content and designing the collection; the Portuguese Mint and Official Printing Office (INCM) is responsible for its publication.
